This Fire Safety Awareness course is aligned with the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) and is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge and skills to understand fire safety in healthcare and other workplace environments.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this course, you will:

Understand the Basics of Fire Safety

• Learn the science of fire, including how fires start, spread, and the types of fire.
• Understand the importance of fire safety measures and regulations in the workplace.

Recognise Fire Hazards

• Identify common fire risks and hazards in healthcare settings and other environments.
• Understand the importance of proactive risk assessment to prevent fire incidents.

Emergency Response Procedures

• Learn the appropriate response in the event of a fire, including raising alarms, evacuation procedures, and emergency plans.
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of employees and fire wardens in an emergency.

Safe Use of Firefighting Equipment

• Gain practical knowledge of the types of fire extinguishers, their specific uses, and limitations.
• Learn how to safely and effectively use firefighting equipment when it is appropriate to do so.

Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge
